Vol State Livingston to celebrate 25th anniversary June 17

OVERTON COUNTY – Volunteer State Community College at Livingston is celebrating a milestone year. A 25th anniversary celebration will take place from 3-7 p.m. Friday, June 17, at the school located at 113 Windle Community Road.

The festivities will include food, live music, fun activities, campus tours, and a special cake cutting. The event is free and open to the public.

“We are celebrating every student who has taken classes or earned a degree at the campus over these 25 years, and the students who are yet to come,” Michael Powell, director, said. “Truly, every student matters most and we celebrate each.”

“All the support this community has given us over the years is simply remarkable and we want to acknowledge their support in every way possible,” he added.

Volunteer State Community College has more than 70 programs of study and offers two-year degrees, certificates and paths to university transfer; it primarily serves students in Clay, Jackson, Overton, Pickett, and Putnam counties and throughout the Upper Cumberland.
