Upcoming ‘Code Camp’ deadline is Friday

COOKEVILLE – Tennessee Code Academy (TN Code Academy) is conducting a code camp for students ages 10-18 next week in Cookeville, and the deadline to register is Friday. Throughout the week of Oct.13-17, the camp will cover a wide variety of topics such as web design, video game creation, app design, the python programming language and 3-D design.

This is the third camp that TN Code Academy has hosted in Cookeville. The program has conducted various camps and workshops all across Tennessee and had more than 500 students participate in events throughout their first year.

“TN Code Academy is changing lives and putting students on a path for success,” said Sammy Lowdermilk, program director for TN Code Academy. “With fun and engaging programs that encourage collaboration and creativity, we help students increase their digital literacy by teaching them how to navigate the Internet’s vast resources and build integrated platforms. As a result, our Tennessee students will have a head start in a competitive and dynamic job market. TN Code Academy is broadening the economic landscape in this state through an innovative and in-demand field.”

The workshops will take place at The Biz Foundry, 140 W. Seventh St., Cookeville. Students may apply at www.tncodeacademy.com. Lunch is provided each day. For more information, call Lowdermilk at (931) 372-1039 email Sammy@tncodeacademy.com.
