UCHRA, SCSEP offer career opportunities for senior workers

UPPER CUMBERLAND –Are you a senior and currently searching for work? The Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) can assist senior job seekers with securing a part-time, paid-training position.

UCHRA’s Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) provides income-eligible unemployed individuals age 55 and over with paid part-time job training positions with local non-profit and government organizations. While in the program, participants receive work-related training to gain the skills and experience they need to transition into unsubsidized employment.

SCSEP was established under the Title V of the Older Americans Act and is funded through a grant from the Department of Labor Employment and Training Administration. UCHRA receives funding from Senior Service America, Inc. (SSAI) one of the 15 national sponsors of SCSEP.

To obtain more information about the program or to sign up, contact (931) 520-9624 or jrandolph@uchara.com. SCSEP is currently offered in Clay, Cumberland, Overton, Pickett, Putnam and White counties.
