UCB Blogger: DeKalb chamber prepping for ‘Jamboree Project Welcome Mat’

The Smithville Fiddlers’ Jamboree is still weeks away, but DeKalb County businesses got a heads up about the annual event today. The Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce wants to welcome visitors via marquees and message signs.

There is a small incentive. Recognition awards will be presented in three categories: “Best Worded,” “Most Original” and the “People’s Choice Award.” If you want your sign included in the contest, have it ready no later than Tuesday, June 24, and call (615) 597-4163 or email dekalbtn@dtccom.net to enter.

The Jamboree, in its 43rd year, is scheduled for Friday, July 4-Saturday, July 5, at the Smithville town square.
