State’s top high school players show skills in Cookeville Dec. 12
COOKEVILLE – When 88 of Tennessee’s top high school football players take the field Friday night for the 8th Annual Toyota East/West All-Star Classic, members of the Tennessee Toyota dealers will be cheering from the sidelines. Toyota’s 25 dealerships in Tennessee are once again presenting this annual showcase of the state’s blue-chip football talent as title sponsor.
The game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Tennessee Tech University’s Overall Field in Cookeville. Featuring several players that have committed to play next year at Division I college football programs and service academies, the game is organized by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA). The players are divided into East and West squad and were selected by the TACA through a nominating process.
The game will again be telecast over a statewide network. Member stations include MyNetwork stations in Knoxville, Nashville and Chattanooga, along with WAPK in the Tri Cities.
The Tennessee Toyota Dealers have served as the title sponsor of this contest since its inception in 2007. As part of this annual sponsorship, Toyota’s dealers help transport, feed and accommodate the student-athletes during a busy four-day schedule. The dealers also play a role in promoting the game and its players in their respective local communities.
