COOKEVILLE – Wilson Bank & Trust has named Wes Taylor regional president for the eastern portion of the bank’s service area, bank officials announced recently.
In his new role, Taylor will oversee all WB&T operations in DeKalb, Smith and Putnam counties, including offices in Cookeville, Carthage, Gordonsville, Smithville and Alexandria, as well as Watertown in eastern Wilson County. Taylor has served the bank in managerial and lending roles in Murfreesboro since 2008 as a branch manager, a regional mortgage manager and most recently as a commercial lender. He began his career with Wilson Bank in 2000 as a customer service representative in Watertown, and earned a promotion to loan officer there before moving to Rutherford County.
“Wes has been a top performer in every role and at every level, and he’s proven himself as a competitive, compassionate, inspirational leader,” WB&T Executive Vice President John McDearman said. “He’ll provide great direction and also serve as a great example for employees throughout our eastern region, and we look forward to the developmental abilities he brings to one of our newest markets in Cookeville.”
Taylor is a graduate of Watertown High School and Middle Tennessee State University as well as the Graduate School of Banking and the Southeastern School of Commercial Lending at LSU. In the community, Taylor has volunteered as a council member with Leadership Rutherford and an honorary co-chair with Relay For Life, and has also served as a member of the Murfreesboro Breakfast Rotary and Murfreesboro Young Professionals.
Taylor and his wife Juliet have two sons, John, 4, and James, 2. The family will be relocating to Watertown.
