COOKEVILLE – Dr. Sara Wells, a Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) urologist, and Gina Galvez-Filoteo, a CRMC physical therapist specializing in pelvic floor rehabilitation, will present a free women’s health seminar about pelvic floor disorders (PFDs) on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the CRMC Education Center.

The seminar, called “Take the Floor Tonight – Break Free from PFDs,” will provide expert advice about PFD signs, symptoms and treatment options. A demonstration of quick and easy exercises and tips on how to strengthen your pelvic floor will also be shared.

New research issued by the PFD Alliance finds that 90 percent of Americans underestimate or are unsure about the prevalence of PFDs, which impacts approximately one in three women at some point during their lives. Many women undertreat PFDs and suffer in silence.

The seminar is free but seating is limited. To reserve a seat, call Amy Mahan at (931) 783-2039 or email amahan@crmchealth.org. Refreshments will be provided.
