LIVINGSTON – Volunteer State Community College at Livingston is offering a new program this fall designed for students who work during the day. Vol State already offers evening classes, but this new program sets up a pathway for evening students to get their degree in two years by taking classes two evenings a week.
Those classes are combined with additional online courses that are laid out ahead of time, so students will know exactly what they have to take to earn an associate of science degree in General Studies. This degree prepares students to transfer to a four-year university for a bachelor’s degree.
Many people are also considering the RN Nursing A.A.S. Degree at Vol State. Students can take Pre-Nursing as a major in Livingston as a pathway towards that competitive program. It lays out exactly what classes students need to take in order to apply for the new Nursing program.
Many adults who don’t already have a college degree will be using the Tennessee Reconnect program this fall. They can take classes tuition-free, either full- or part-time, and in all of the Vol State academic areas. There are some stipulations and additional eligibility requirements.
