COOKEVILLE – Construction is progressing at two major developments in Putnam County – and a number of jobs are available for those interested in applying.

Automotive supplier Ficosa expects its 270,000-square-foot, $58 million manufacturing facility to be complete by December – the company broke ground in early June inside the Highlands Business Park. More than 550 positions will be added. Those interested in applying are being asked to email their resume to delliot@ficosa.com.

The company, which produces mirror assemblies for Nissan, Ford, Volkswagen, Fiat Chrysler, General Motors and other auto manufacturers, has said it expects to begin limited production in Cookeville in mid-2016.

Academy Sports + Outdoors, meanwhile, has added a dozen 12 new positions to its web site, its latest job posting wave, including senior operations manager, loss prevention manager, training manager, inventory control assistant manager, and IT systems specialist. To apply, visit www.academy.com/shop/store/Careers, select distribution center positions, hourly or salaried, and Cookeville.

Academy is building a 1.6 million square foot facility center on more than 250 acres west of the Highlands Business Park. When it was announced last August, company officials said they would create 700 full-time equivalent jobs in Putnam County over the next five years.
