COOKEVILLE – The staff at the Women’s Center at Cookeville Regional is ready to give back to moms with their annual “Mams 4 Moms” event. From 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 8, mothers can schedule an appointment to come to the Women’s Center for a mammogram, free bone density heel screening, enjoy refreshments, and take home a goody bag.

“Early detection is key in detecting breast cancer,” Stephanie Jennings, chief mammographer at the Women’s Center, said. “Moms truly give so much of their time and love to their families and communities. They deserve the best of everything, especially when it comes to their health and this event shows, not only how much we appreciate moms, but it helps them stay healthy for the ones they love. If you know a mom, whether it’s your own mom or perhaps a sister, a grandmother, niece or a friend bring her with you, or encourage her to come get a mammogram at this event. And if you’re a mom, treat yourself.”

This is the fifth year for Mams 4 Moms. The Women Center continues to grow and serve patients in the Upper Cumberland region and surrounding regions. In 2014, 9,159 mammograms were performed at the Women’s Center. An appointment is required and an order from a physician.
