New testing locations reduce commutes, expense for prospective rural agents

NASHVILLE – Future insurance agents no longer have to travel to Nashville to test for their license. Livingston’s Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT), located at 740 High Tech Drive, is one of three new third party testing centers where individuals may take their insurance producer exams. This is the only testing center located in the Upper Cumberland region.

“The opening of these new insurance locations gives prospective insurance agents more choices and demonstrates, again, how we are fulfilling Governor Lee’s first executive order to help provide more opportunities in Tennessee’s rural counties,” said TDCI Commissioner Hodgen Mainda.  “I commend our Insurance Division for collaborating with our testing partners at Pearson VUE to offer these additional testing centers thereby reducing costs and commute time for rural residents.”

Other new testing locations are located at the University of Tennessee Martin and Tennessee Technology Center at Hartsville. These join the eight longtime testing locations across Tennessee.

To schedule an examination, applicants must schedule an appointment with Pearson Vue.  Appointments can be secured online here. Testing days and times will vary and are subject to available hours and seating availability.
