CRMC: Coffey Award nominations needed

COOKEVILLE – Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is seeking nominations for the 2017 Martin Coffey Cardiovascular Service Award. Recipients may be current or past hospital employees, medical staff, board members, or other individuals in the community who have actively supported CRMC; contributors must have had a positive and lasting effect on the scope and delivery of quality cardiovascular care to patients and the Upper Cumberland region.

The award was established two years ago in memory of the late Martin Coffey to recognize his service and in appreciation for his endeavors to establish the heart program at CRMC and for his efforts to continually expand the program.

The award seeks to recognize an individual who best exemplifies the same commitment, loyalty and concern that Coffey demonstrated during his 13 years of service as the director of the hospital’s cardiac cath lab.

Last year, the award was presented in memory of the late Tom Little, recognizing his many contributions as both a leader and member of Mended Hearts Chapter 127. Cardiologist Alex Case, M.D., a native of Cookeville, received the first Coffey Award for his commitment and efforts to help develop the only state-of-the-art cardiac care center in the UC.

Nominations must be submitted prior to Thursday, Dec. 1, and should include a detailed written summary of the individual’s contributions to CRMC and cardiovascular health care. Nominations may be emailed to Melahn Finley at mfinley@crmchealth.org or submitted to: Marketing & Public Relations Department, Attn.: Melahn Finley, Cookeville Regional Medical Center, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Cookeville, TN 38501
