‘Christmas with Dickens’ dinners set

COOKEVILLE – Hip Cookeville and Cookeville’s newest performing arts experience, Storyteller Theatre Company, are ringing in the holiday season with two holiday Dickens themed events, featuring unique dinner experiences which help celebrate the spirit of Christmas with fully costumed holiday carolers.

Both performances feature a theatrical performance by actors from Storyteller Theatre Company costumed by Spotlight- Costumes, Props & Events performing “Christmas with Dickens.” Dinner theaters will be at The Blue Pig on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 5:30 and Foglight Foodhouse on Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 6:30.

“Christmas with Dickens” is performed by two actors who serve as your host and Christmas Carol reader, guiding you through the event and taking on the life of 16 characters from Dickens’ Christmas Classic. The reading is a condensed version of “A Christmas Carol”, abridged to intertwine neatly with your Christmas dinner.

The proceeds from the events will benefit Storyteller Theatre Company, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation whose mission is to promote and facilitate the arts and provide increased performing arts education, while aiding the creative skills and cultural welfare of the community. The theatre aims to feature theatrical readings, theatre productions, and provide a home for performance art and artists, ensuring the growth and development of the arts. Their focus includes published and new works, theatrical instruction and training and improvisational comedy theatre and education.
