COMMUNITY WELLNESS BLOCK PARTY WELCOMES BIG IDAHO POTATO TRUCK, JULY 1
Woodmere Mall Celebration for CMC Wellness Complex 20th Anniversary
CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (June 19, 2017) – Cumberland Medical Center is celebrating its Wellness Complex’s 20th anniversary with a Community Wellness Block Party at Woodmere Mall on Saturday, July 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is a special collaboration with the City of Crossville, which is proud to be designated as a Healthier Tennessee community by The Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness. The Big Idaho Potato Truck will be at the event, which is free of charge and all ages are welcome.
In celebration of its 20th anniversary, CMC’s Wellness Complex at Woodmere Mall completed renovations. They will offer free tours, health screenings, and refreshments. Additional businesses throughout Woodmere Mall will also participate in the Block Party by having sidewalk sales and door prizes.
“We are truly thankful to be a part of such a vibrant community,” says CMC Wellness Complex Manager Charlotte Walker. “We appreciate the opportunity to help others improve their quality of life through better health.”
Several special guests and community partners are coming together in support of the Community Wellness Block Party.
The Big Idaho Potato Truck® will be stopping in Crossville to participate in the event as part of its nation-wide tour across the country promoting Idaho’s most famous agriculture product, the Idaho® potato. It weighs more than six-tons (the equivalent of 32,346 medium-sized Idaho® potatoes) and is covering more than 28,000 miles and visiting more than 60 cities in six months.
Medic Regional Blood Center, the sole blood product supplier for Cumberland Medical Center, will have its mobile bus at the event for those who are interested in donating blood. All donors will receive a free Medic t-shirt. They will also have free coupons for Chick-fil-A Sandwich, a McDonald’s order of fries, and a Texas Roadhouse appetizer. Cumberland County’s Sheriff’s Office will hold a Drug Take Back station at Young Pharmacy for those who need to properly dispose of unwanted or expired medications.
Cumberland County Fire and Police departments will also be at the Block Party. They will open their vehicles up for children to see and provide an opportunity for them to become more familiar with our community’s first responders.
Woodmere Skating Rink will also be opening its doors in celebration of the event. Children will be able to skate and bounce free of charge during the Wellness Block Party.
Additional fun attractions to enjoy include a caricature drawing artist, face painting, and games.
