Averitt’s Elmore wins TTA Maintenance Professional of the Year award

COOKEVILLE —Averitt maintenance coordinator Lynell Elmore recently earned an impressive honor, as he was named the Tennessee Trucking Association’s Maintenance Professional of the Year.

The award is given annually to the individual “who has excelled in the field of fleet and commercial motor vehicle maintenance,” according to the TTA’s nomination criteria.

Elmore has been a member of the Averitt team for 31 years. He served as a shop technician for 18 years, then oversaw Averitt’s maintenance training program for five years. For the last eight years, he has served in a leadership role with Averitt’s corporate maintenance team.

“We’re very proud of Lynell for winning this award, and it’s a well-deserved honor,” said Wayne Spain, Averitt’s president and chief operating officer. “Lynell is an outstanding example of our commitment to promoting from within, and he has been a great asset for our team in every role he’s served.”
