Apply now for fall classes at Vol State in Cookeville

COOKEVILLE – The fall semester is the start of a college career for many students. Volunteer State Community College at the CHEC campus in Cookeville has many areas of study for students to choose. Many adults who don’t already have a college degree will be using the Tennessee Reconnect program this fall. They can take classes tuition-free, either full or part-time, and in all of the Vol State academic areas. There are some stipulations and additional eligibility requirements. Manufacturing is increasingly powered by Mechatronics and employers are looking for trained professionals to repair, maintain, and design state-of-the-art robotics and computer-aided equipment in today’s fastest growing industries. Vol State offers a Mechatronics degree program in Cookeville, taught in a large lab with many different types of equipment, including robotics.

Fall classes start Aug. 26. The first step for students is to apply to Vol State. That can be done online at www.volstate.edu/apply. Students will then receive a welcome package that will help them start the registration process. For the complete fall class schedule visit www.volstate.edu/schedule.
