COOKEVILLE – AAA Wholesale Trophies, located on Mine Lick Creek Road, was lost to a fire on Wednesday night.

Cookeville Fire Chief Daryl Blair reported that the first call was received at 8:20 p.m. and the first unit arrived on the scene reported smoke showing.

Due to the storage of materials and supplies in the building, firefighters were unable to enter and get to the heart of the fire.

“It had a heavy fire load in it, then we had to contend with the structure – roof collapsing and such,” explained Blair.

The loss is estimated at $250,000.

“They might be able to salvage a few things out of it, but it’s pretty much a total loss,” said Blair.

The fire is under investigation, as is normal in any business case due to the dollar loss.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the AAA Wholesale Trophies building.

There was a mobile home about 50 yards behind it, but it was never in danger, according to Blair.
